Aleksandra (Alex) Gadzala holds an MPhil in Comparative Government from the University of Oxford and a joint BA in Political Science and Legal Studies from Northwestern University. Her research interests include contemporary Sino-African relations, public-private partnerships for sustainable development, and human rights. Aleksandra is Founder and Principal of the China-Africa Research Network at Oxford. She has worked as a Policy Intern with the Capacity Development Group at the United Nations Development Programme, as a research assistant at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and the Department of Politics and International Relations at Oxford. She is also the joint-author of Governing Global Climate Change: St. Petersburg Compliance Report for the ‘G8 Plus Five’ Countries (2007) written while part of the G8 Research Group, and is in the process of writing a book on Chinese entrepreneurialism in East Africa.
